Most of us love a good party, but receiving an invite for a black-tie event can be as daunting as it is exciting. Obviously, the idea of dressing up and buying some new additions for yourwardrobe is welcome. But no one wants to be the person who over-or under-dresses. We all know black tie means formal, but it also leaves plenty of room for interpretation. Most agree that if the occasion starts before 6pm, then the fashion police won’t be called.
The beauty of this is that if your capsule wardrobe is fleshed out, you will already have everything you need to attend a black tie-optional affair. Black Tie Optional Tie
We have talked about the black-tie event and the dress code that goes with it compulsorily, but what constitutes a black-tie dress code? To properly pull off this look, some elements are essential and sacrosanct for it. There is no excuse for resorting to one of those clip-on abominations.
Considering black tie events are almost exclusively in the evening and demand a certain degree of ceremony, they render some fabrics inappropriate. Unless otherwise specified on the invitation, ‘black tie’ in general permits any length, so midi and even shorter styles, within reason, are acceptable. But, given the formality, showing a lot of skin might draw stares from other guests.
How to Host a Black Tie Optional Event

When it comes to women white-tie attire for a wedding, floor-length dresses are pretty much non-negotiable. If you are channeling your inner princess, then you can put on white gloves as well.
Unlike a cocktail dress code, the lounge suit dress code is less formal and is frequently comparable to a cocktail dress code. Classic and elegant the black tuxedo is something every man should have in his wardrobe. Choose either peak or notch lapel, have it tailored to fit you and compliment with black leather lace up or loafers.
This is one of my personal favorites because of its elegance and the beauty of how modern it is. The fabric of choice that brings out the beauty of the color is velvet or suede. Green also goes great with black pants, giving you a truly magical look. While the color choice is primarily black, you are allowed to experiment with other colors in Asia, just as long as it is done with finesse and taste.
